The year of Vinnytsia city foundation is 1363, this is the year when the Lithuanian Prince Algirdas laid the fortress on the territory of Vinnitsa. The first written mention about Vinnitsa dated by 1385 year. The most developed sectors of modern Vinnitsa economy are the food industry and machine building, the largest city`s enterprises: OJSC "Vinnitskiy Zavod traktornyh agregatov", JSC "Mayak", Confectionery Factory "ROSHEN", Vinnytsya Oil Plant "Vioyl".
